This is part of the Philippine Miss Earth 2007 pageant to be hosted by Vietnam for the first time. Apart from the sub-contest, a series of activities regarding environmental protection, cultural exchange and charitable work will be launched in the country.

The Miss Earth 2007 pageant is expected to attract 90 contestants from 90 countries around the world.

The Vietnam Model Training Company Elite Vietnam has selected model Truc Diem, the first runner-up in  Miss Photo of the Women’s World Newspaper 2005, to represent Vietnam at the Miss Earth 2007 pageant.

Truc Diem will vie for five prizes- Miss Beauty for a Cause, Miss Fashion, Miss Charm, Best in Traditional National Dress (Ao dai) and Miss Fitness. Four prizes will be awarded in Vietnam and the prize “ Miss Beauty for a Cause” will be made public in  the Miss Earth 2007 final in Manila on November 11.
