In HCM City’s Thong Nhat Stadium the Vietnamese team had a convincing win, hammering home five goals in each half of the match.

They entered the half time break with an unassailable lead thanks to four goals from Muon and an own goal from defender Nur Aniqah Imana Binte Azman.

Substitute Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet scored a hat trick in the second half and Nguyen Thi Tuyet Dung and Nguyen Thi Xuyen each scored one goal. In the previous match Myanmar beat the Philippines 3-0 to claim second place in the group.

Thailand was scheduled to meet Malaysia in Group B on Sept.14.
