Two heritages of Vietnam along with 40 natural and cultural properties in 40 countries will be considered by UNESCO for the inscription on the World Heritage List.

Under the announcement made by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) on May 5, the Citadel of the Ho Dynasty in the northern province of Thanh Hoa will be a candidate site for UNESCO’s World Cultural Heritage list.

Meanwhile, Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park in the central province of Quang Binh, which was recognised as the world natural heritage under geological and geomorphic criteria will be considered for the second world natural heritage status under the criteria of biodiversity.

Up to now, UNESCO has recognised 911 world heritages, including 704 cultural heritages, 180 natural heritages and 27 mixed cultural and natural heritages in 151 member countries.
