A Vietnam-Republic of Korea week was held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from October 18-25 with a wide range of activities to mark the 17th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The opening ceremony which took place at the Hanoi National Convention Centre on October 18 was a music party for fans from both countries. It attracted famous singers and groups from two countries, including My Linh, Dam Vinh Hung, Sonho Young, U-Kiss band and Girls Generation.
The Korean Film Festival also opened at Lotte Cinema Nam Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City on October 18. Eight of the newest Korean movies including “My girl friend is an Agent” and “Speedy Scandal” were screened. The movies’ stars, Kim Ha Neul and Kang Ji Kwan, and director Yang Sung Uk, met with local fans.
