Vietnam represented at Berlin Int’l Beer Festival

(VOV) - Around 330 beer companies from 86 nations are participating in the 17th International Beer Festival, opened in the German capital Berlin on August 2.

Visitors can sample 2,100 beer varieties at stalls lining a 2.2 km street. There are also 20 live music and entertainment stages featuring performances by German and international artists.

Asia Sky Tours Director Nguyen Xuan Hung noted 2013 is the 13th consecutive year Vietnamese companies have attended festival.

This event is an excellent opportunity to promote Vietnam’s image, introduce its culinary arts to international friends, and give overseas Vietnamese expatriates a welcome taste of home.

Although no Vietnamese art troupes are appearing at this year’s festival, members of the Vietnamese community—including European Sao Mai Diem Hen (Morning Star Rendezvous) contestants—have entertained the crowds.

Around 800,000 people from all over the world are expected to enjoy the three-day festival.
