Vietnam ranks second at 2012 int’l futsal tourney
(VOV) - Vietnam has secured second place at the 2012 International Futsal Tournament after defeating Kuwait 4-2 in the final round.
Italy claimed the championship title with an overwhelming 6-0 victory over their Uzbekistani opponents.
Under the leadership of chief coach Sergio Gargelli, Vietnamese players Thanh Dat, Long Vu, Bao Quan and Huynh Toan managed a four goal comeback in the second half of the match after being down 0-2 in the first half.
With the 4-2 result, Vietnam earned three points, adding to a total that was ultimately three points lower than the Italian champions. The team was awarded a cash prize of VND50 million by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).
