The Fine Art and Photography Department under the Ministry of Culture and Information (MoCI) has launched an international painting contest following the ministry’s decision.

The contest named Kanagawa is held for children aged from 4-15, who can choose their favorite topics and draw on unlined A3 paper sheets with colour material. Participants in the contest are entitled to send a maximum of two entries to the Fine Art and Photography Department within a week from November 25-30 this year.

The organsing committee expects to present 460 awards, including one special and two first prizes, to the winners who will be invited to attend the awards ceremony in Kanagawa, Japan together with their parents. Other fine paintings will receive the MoCI’s certificates and be exhibited in Kanagawa.
