On the Vietnamese side was a delegation from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, led by Minister Hoang Tuan Anh. On the Lao side were delegates of Laos’ Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, headed by Minister Bosengkham Vongdara.

At the event, the two sides also discussed the plan to celebrate the 50^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries in 2012 and the 35^th anniversary of the signing of friendship and cooperative agreements.

Both leaders agreed to build an area in memory of the late President Ho Chi Minh and deploy a project to establish Laos’ national culture and arts school in the second phase.

In the field of tourism, the two sides reached a consensus on exchanging information and sharing experience. Vietnam will also give Laos some free stalls at the international tourism exhibition in HCM City every year.

Minister Hoang Tuan Anh also committed to coordinate and help Laos host the ASEAN tourism forum in 2013.
