Hundreds of Vietnamese brides and Korean grooms attended the first Vietnam-Korea Family Day held at the Vietnamese Embassy in the Republic of Korea on November 4.

The event was co-organized by the Vietnamese Embassy and the RoK Hana Financial Group to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the two countries’ relationship.

Jang Hajin, Korean Minister for Gender Equality and Family, said that the majority of Vietnamese brides, who are gentle and diligent, express satisfaction with life in the RoK, according to opinion polls.

The official added that the RoK Government has adopted many policies to help these “international” families integrate into the community.

Statistics from the RoK Ministry of Justice show that about 20,000 Vietnamese women are married to Korean men, second only to Chinese women (more than 54,000 people).
