A Vietnamese youth delegation will join the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS) in the 21st century, which will be held in Japan from June 17-27.
While staying in Japan, Vietnamese guests will visit the capital of Tokyo, various localities and a number of schools. They will take part in exchange programmes with Japanese pupils, students and others.
The programme aims to strengthen Vietnam-Japan relations and deepen mutual understanding among young people in the region.
As scheduled, from the end of June to mid-July, Vietnam will send an additional 2000 students and young people to attend exchange programmes in Japan.
Initiated by former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at the second East Asia Summit in the Philippines in 2007, JENESYS is set to be implemented in five years from 2008. Accordingly, each year, about 6,000 students and young people in East Asian countries are provided with opportunities to visit Japan.
