Six Japanese and six Vietnamese singers will participate in the programme, which will be broadcast live by Radio the Voice of Vietnam, while the Japan Broadcasting Corporation NHK also plans to air the event on its satellite channels.
A CD of songs will be launched with music being composed by Vietnamese musicians and lyrics by Japanese ones, performed by singers from both countries.
A Vietnamese delegation will be invited to Japan to attend a culture and art festival in Tokyo’s Yoyogi Park.
Vietnam and Japan established diplomatic ties on September 21, 1973. Over recent years, their cooperation and friendship have been continuously strengthened and expanded in all areas, from politics, culture and economics to education.
Since the first Vietnam-Japan Cultural Exchange Festival in 2003 in Vietnam’s ancient central town of Hoi An on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the ASEAN-Japan Exchange Year, nearly 100 activities have been held so far in the two countries.
On May 22, 2007, Vietnam appointed Japan-Vietnam Goodwill Ambassador Sugi Ryotaro to be Vietnam-Japan Special Friendship Ambassador and Ryotaro became the first person holding the post of ambassador for both countries.
