A forum entitled “Vietnam-Japan Culture Exchange and Japan International Exchange Foundation” was jointly held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Japanese Embassy in Ho Chi Minh City on March 12.

Human resource training, preservation of cultural heritage, and cultural exchange were highlighted at the forum, which was part of a programme marking the 35th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties this year.

The Japanese side expressed their wish to expand relations not only with Vietnam, but also other country members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Addressing the forum, President of the Japan International Exchange Foundation Ogoura Kazuo expressed his hope that the forum will make the two sides more aware of the strategic partnership and bilateral cultural cooperation potential.

A similar forum was also held in Hanoi on March 11.
