A Vietnam-Japan cultural contest will be organised in Ho Chi Minh City between April 15 and June 3 with the aim of further boosting cultural exchanges and relations between young people of the two countries.

The contest, entitled "Living dynamically, expanding vision", will offer Vietnamese youth an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the Japanese culture.

Local students, aged 16-23, are eligible for the contest, which will be co-hosted by the Vietnam Communist Youth Union, the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association and the Japanese General Consular  in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the biannual event, which brings together young people from many countries around the world, participants will introduce their countries' specific cultural characteristics through various activities, including art performances.

Two winners of the contest will have a chance to join an International Exchange Week in Tokyo from July 7 to August 15.
