An exchange of cuisine, culture and the arts was held recently by the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan in collaboration with the International Friendship Centre of Japan (IFC) under the initiative of the IFC President, Yuriko Hisara.

The programme was part of many diverse activities to mark the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, drawing the participation of the Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan, Nguyen Phu Binh, the former Vietnamese Ambassador, Chu Tuan Cap, all the embassy’s staff and around 100 IFC members.

In his opening speech, Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Phu Binh praised the IFC members’ active participation in the programme as well as IFC President Yuriko Hisara’s initiative in holding the exchange.

Mr Binh expressed hope that through the exchange, both peoples would get a better understanding of the bilateral relationship, which promises to develop not only in politics and economics but also in culture.

This was the second time such a cultural exchange was held by the IFC and the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan.
