More than 100 paintings of nearly 20 foreign female artists are being displayed at an exhibition entitled “Cam xuc ve Vietnam” (feelings about Vietnam), which is being held in Hanoi from May 18-31.

The artists, who are members of the Hanoi International Women’s Club, created their artworks by using traditional Vietnamese styles and materials such as lacquer, oil-paint, silk and water-colours.

Sue Power, an artist from Australian, said that she was impressed by the colours and effects that could be achieved by lacquer paintings. Vietnam’s art form of lacquer painting is the most special in the world, she added.
