Vietnam hosts Int’l Mountain Marathon
(VOV) -The first international mountain marathon will take place in Sapa, Lao Cai province on October 5.
The information was released by the Danish Embassy in Vietnam at a press conference in Hanoi on July 31.

Many runners from more than 20 different countries, including Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia and Denmark have registered for this event.
Vietnam Mountain Marathon 2013 will cover three categories of half marathon (21 km), marathon (42 km), and ultra-marathon (70 km) and runners will race through small villages and stunningly beautiful valleys that are usually closed to tourists.
All runners will donate part of their entry fees to help Sapa O’Chau – a local organization to create education opportunities to young local minority people.
Danish Ambassador John Nielsen has also signed up for the event.
