The Vietnam-Germany University (VGU) will recruit 160 students for its under and post-graduate programmes in 2010, said Professor Rieck, Rector of the VGU, at a press briefing on January 29.

Sixty students will be recruited for BA courses in electricity and information technology. They will study in four years for both German and Vietnamese teachers. In their final term, the students will have an opportunity for an internship at Frankfurt University in Germany.

In addition, the VGU will open two departments for MA training programmes, bringing the total number of post-graduate departments to five, including calculation techniques, urban zoning and development, economic informatics, irrigations and transportation.

The monthly tuition will be US$1,500 per person. In their final year, students must pay an additional 400 Euro/month for living expenses in Germany.

To enter the VGU, students must have an IELTS score of at least 6.0 and pass an examination organised by the Ministry of Education and Training.

The deadline for applicants is April 7, 2010.
