Vietnam football drops seven notches in FIFA rankings

(VOV) -Vietnam’s national football squad is placed 158th in the latest FIFA rankings, seven notches lower than in the previous month.
The team’s declining position is attributed to its two unsuccessful matches against Uzbekistan and United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the Asian Cup 2015 qualifiers.

The Philppines is currently taking the lead in Southeast Asia and ranking 133rd in the world, followed by Myanmar, and Thailand.
Spain still tops the world list, followed by Germany, Argentina, and Colombia.
After defeating the Swedish team in a play-off match at the 2014 World Cup, Turkey jumped nine notches to 5th position in the FIFA rankings.
Brazil is in the world top 10, including Uruguay, Italia, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.
The next FIFA rankings will be announced on September 19.
