The Vietnam Fine Arts Association held a ceremony in Hanoi on December 9 to celebrate its 50th anniversary and receive the Gold Star Order.
The ceremony was attended by Former Vice President Truong My Hoa, Deputy President Nguyen Thien Nhan, Chairman of Central Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front Pham The Duyet and a number of Vietnamese portrait artists.
Five generations of Vietnamese portrait artists have continually created a lot of excellent works for Vietnam’s fine arts sector and have made a positive contribution to the cause of national development.
The association now has more than 1,500 members located in 64 provinces and cities throughout the country. Since 1996, it has held 12 regional exhibitions and 117 galleries in 54 provinces, displaying 1,500-1,800 new art works every year.
