Many Vietnamese young people and Cambodian students attended a get-together in Hanoi on April 9 to celebrate the Khmer New Year festival known as the Chol Chnam Thmay.

Deputy chairman of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association, Nguyen Van De, and Cambodian ambassador to Vietnam, Vann Phal, believed that the young people of both Vietnam and Cambodia had made a great contribution to consolidating and promoting the two countries’ relationship by being "good neighbours and upholding the traditional friendship and ensuring comprehensive co-operation and long-term stability".

Deputy chairman Nguyen Van De expressed his hope that the Cambodian people will continue to gain more achievements in the construction of their nation development under the guidance of the King and the Royal Government.

The event was co-organised by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) and the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association.
