Vietnam’s garden, which is decorated by a model of Ngoc Son temple in Hanoi, has drawn the special attention of Japanese visitors at the on-going 10th World Gardening Fair in Tokyo, Japan.

Gardens on display at the fair are laid out following the ideas and styles of the wives of the ambassadors of the 10 participating countries.

Japanese Princess Takamado joined the wives of the ambassadors of ten participating countries, including Costa Rica, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Lesotho, Nepal, New Zealand, Paraguay, Rumania and Vietnam, at the opening ceremony on May 2.

Le Thieu Ngan, the wife of Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Phu Binh said she chose lotus as the highlight of Vietnam’s garden as it is the country’s national flower and the symbol of the Vietnamese people.

During the five-day fair, a cuisine festival featuring special dishes of the ten participating countries and a Japanese ornamental plants exhibition will be held.

Proceedings from ticket sales and other fund-raising activities during the fair will be donated to the charity fund Save the Children Japan.
