The 35th International Folk Festival has opened in the centre of Montoire Sur Le Loir, nearly 200km from Paris with the participation of 11 folk troupes.

The Vietnamese troupe comprising 25 artists from the Hue Court Music Theatre led by its director La Cam Van attended the festival.

Vietnamese artists presented 9 traditional items - dance, Hue royal court music, and folk, including three special items at the opening ceremony.

Jean Francois Proux, director of Montoire Festival said he loves folk music, especially Vietnamese folk music. Organisers praised the content and art of Hue royal court music and the Vietnamese artists’ performance. Items featured the special and unique culture of Vietnam.

The Vietnamese troupe will perform in France until August 15 and then tour Belgium and Switzerland.
