The Vietnamese Embassy in the US attended a cultural fair, one of the activities to mark the annual Asia-Pacific American Heritage Month, in Washington DC on May 10.

During the fair, embassies and representative offices from 15 Asia-Pacific countries and territories in Washington showcased their traditional handicrafts and fine arts, including silk products, knitwear and toys.

Paper fan and lion dances, puppetry and flower arrangements were also performed during the event.

Vietnam’s booth attracted visitors’ attention thanks to traditional handicraft products such as lacquer, puppets, and hand-made postcards as well as DVDs featuring Vietnamese traditional festivals and landscapes.

Soohyun Julie Koo, head of the organising board, highlighted the Vietnamese Embassy’s participation in the event, describing it as an active contribution to introducing cultural identities of Asia-Pacific countries to the US.
