Pop singer Minh Quan, who is also an artist from Radio the Voice of Vietnam, attended the ASEAN+3 Concert in Thailand on June 19 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of King Bhumibol Adulyadej's ascension to the throne.

The concert attracted the participation of 20 artists from ASEAN countries, China, Japan and the Republic of Korea. It also aimed to praise the King’s great contributions to the Thai people, and help strengthen friendship and cooperation among ASEAN countries and between ASEAN and its three dialogue partners: China, the RoK and Japan.

Minh Quan said this was the second time he has participated in such as contest in Thailand. In addition to singing his own song “Spring Ballads”, Quan andThai singer Mint Ardhawadee Jiramaneekul performed “When You Tell Me that You Love Me”, receiving thunderous applause from the audience.

Quan said that the music festival and the “ASEAN Golden Voice” contest held in Vietnam last year have contributed to strengthening cooperation and mutual understanding among regional countries through songs and ballads imbued with the cultural identity of each country. He added that he also introduced some Vietnamese folk songs to international friends in Southeast Asia and East Asia during the festival.
