Vietnam aims for nine gold medals at Asian Games

Vietnam is hoping to win at least nine gold medals at the upcoming fourth Asian Indoor & Martial Art Games (AIMAG 4) to be held in Incheon, the Republic of Korea (RoK) from June 29 to July 6.

The country will send 106 athletes to compete in billiards and snooker, short-course swimming, chess, muay, kickboxing, dance sport, kurash, kabaddi, bowling, eSports and futsal events.

Its two top chess stars, Le Quang Liem and Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son, are expected to clinch two gold medals, while prominent swimmers Nguyen Thi Anh Vien and Hoang Quy Phuoc are hopeful for gold medals.

The national sports team will arrive in Incheon on June 27, two days before the official AIMAG opening ceremony at Samsan World Gymnasium.

The eight-day event is an ideal platform for Vietnamese athletes to hone their skills and gain experience in preparation for the 27th Southeast Asian Games in Myanmar this December and the 17th Asian Games in the RoK next year.
