US world famous blues and jazz singer CoCo York will take to the stage in Hue and Ho Chi Minh City from June 3-8.
During Vietnam’s Hue Festival 2008, she will perform at the Duyet Thi Duong Theatre at 7.30pm on June 4 and 5 and at the An Dinh Theatre at 8pm on June 6. She will also conduct a master class for students at the Hue Academy of music and the Hue Foreign Language College.
She will then return to HCM City where she first performed in 2002 for a public performance at the HCM City Conservatory of Music at 8pm on June 8. Vietnam’s famous saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan will join her in this performance.
Born in Arkansas, the US, Ms York received a music degree from Louisiana’s Southern University where she studied opera and explored the roots of American music during a period in Africa./.
