The Management Board of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park said on September 17 that UNESCO has sent of a group of experts to Vietnam to verify the entire dossier submitted by the country to seek the park’s second UNESCO recognition, this time for its biodiversity.
The dossier was previously submitted to UNESCO by Vietnam.
UNESCO assigned the prestigious International Union for Conservation of Nature to conduct the verification.
The group of experts will verify the global significance of indigenous plants and wildlife in the park’s evergreen forest, its newly discovered fauna and flora, and the biodiversity of the Ke Bang rainforest.
