The UK Film Week will start in Hanoi on December 11 with “Looking for Eric”, a comedy by director Ken Loach.

On the same day, “Scoop” staring Scarlett Johansson, will be screened in Ho Chi Minh City.

The film week, organized by the British Council in Vietnam, will feature different aspects of contemporary UK life and culture. The films that explore themes such as teenage angst to mid-life crises, see chance encounters between strangers that develop into something much more, said Simon Beardow, deputy director of the British Council.

Written by award-winning writers and directors such as Ken Loach, Mike Leigh and Woody Alllen, they show a host of stars such as Dame Ludy Dench, Cate Blanchett and Eric Cantona.

The films, which will be screened with Vietnamese voice-overs and in the original language, will run from December 11-17.
