The Vietnam Universe Company has announced that it will replace Elite Vietnam in the selection of the Vietnamese candidate for Miss Universe 2009. The firm said that it had asked a modeling company, Professional Look (PL), to put forward nominees for the pageant and Hoang Yen and Ngoc Diem were named.

Currently, the Vietnam Universe Company is still in the process of deciding who will represent Vietnam for the pageant before submitting her name to the Performance Art Agency for approval in April. If the agency accepts the candidate, her details will be sent to the Miss Universe organising board in May.
