Two Vietnamese IT projects: a supporting centre for printing and Braille library of Bung Sang School for the Blind, and building and developing information technology for the Deaf of Hy Vong School for the Deaf have received awards worth US$90,250 from the Samsung Digital Hope 2006 Programme.

They are among 15 projects which were announced to receive sponsorships from the Samsung Vina in Hanoi on January 9.

Samsung Vina also provided US$25,000 to the “information technology universalisation for youths in remote areas” project, which was evaluated the most promising project in Vietnam.

The “Samsung Digital Hope 2006 - "Technology Gives Wings to Dreams" programme aims to bring a better life to impoverished teenagers, youngsters and the disabled in Southeast Asia and Australia.

Five months after it was launching, the programme has attracted 21 projects from Vietnamese individuals and organisations.
