Dung, who is from central Da Nang city, was awarded VND150 million (roughly US$9,500), a trip to Europe and free flights with Jetstar airlines for two years. She will go on to represent the country at the Miss World Contest.

The first and second runner-up titles were given to Phan Hoang Minh Thu and Nguyen Thuy Van from the central highland province of Lam Dong and Hanoi, respectively. The two runners up were awarded VND80 million and VND60 million.

Thirty young girls competed for the crown in the final round of the biennial beauty pageant, which was first organised by Tien Phong (Vangaurd) newspaper 20 years ago.
