The fourth Traditional Craft Villages Festival 2011, themed “Vietnamese kitchen in Hue’s garden”, will be held from April 30 to May 3 in Hue City in central Vietnam.

The festival which highlights culinary culture and the bonsai will be organised in three areas at Ngo Mon Square (Noon Gate), Dai Noi (Royal Palace) and the Huong (Perfume) River bank. It will introduce special dishes from the south, Hanoi and Hue as well as bonsais from across the country.

Guests will have a chance to take part in folk games and enjoy special dishes while listening to traditional musical art forms, like ca tru (ceremonial), cheo (popular opera) and hat xam (songs of strolling blind musician).

During the event, diverse community activities will be held, such as a festival for secondary school students, a “happy meal” contest for couples and a hike.

The festival will provide a good opportunity to promote the land and people from Hue in particular and Vietnam in general, to domestic and foreign friends.
