Toyota Concert will be held in five big cities of Hanoi, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Nha Trang and Ho Chi Minh City from June 9 to 20 to mark the 35th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties.

Toyota Vietnam Fund and the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra held a press briefing in Hanoi on June 3 to announce the event.

The concert will be conducted by Japanese conductor Tetsuiji Honna. Japanese violist Ai Okumura will perform pieces of music written by Strauss and Tchaikovsky.

A contest will provide young music lovers who are at least five years old a chance to become a conductor. The most outstanding participant will receive a small gift – a baton from Tetsuiji Honna.

All proceeds will go to poor families in the five cities.
