Vietnam’s top badminton player, world No. 8 Nguyen Tien Minh, failed to qualify for the next round of  the 2012 Korea Open Super Series Premie.

The three-day tourney, which will last until January 8, is very important for the world’s top players, including Tien Minh.

Minh was defeated 1-2 in his first match by Kenichi Tago, the world No.12 from Japan.

Two years ago, the Vietnamese player also lost to Kenichi Tago at the Super Series tournament in the UK, but he trounced his Japanese rival three months earlier at the Denmark Open.
