•  Tien Minh fails in Yonex Open Japan tournament

Vu Thi Trang from Bac Giang earned the gold medal in the women's singles event.

In the team events, Nguyen Hoang Nam and Duong Bao Duc from Ho Chi Minh City took the gold for the men while Vu Thi Trang and Nguyen Thi Sen (Bac Giang) claimed first place in the women’s category.

Duong Bao Duc and Thai Thi Hong Gam (HCM City) also came out on top in the mixed doubles category.  

The Yonex Sunrise Cup took place in the central province of Thanh Hoa from September 24-28, attracting 110 athletes from 19 cities and provinces nationwide.

The organizing board granted grandmaster status to the 18 players in the tournament.

***Minh has also moved up one place to 13^th position in the world rankings, according to the World Badminton Federation.

He has also been seeded No.2 for the Yonex Chinese Taipei Open, which will take place in October.
