This is the second tournament in the system of super series organized by the Badminton World Federation (BWF).

The event draws the participation of leading players in the world, including Lee Chong Wei, Lin Dan, Chen Long, Chen Jin and Peter Hoeg Gade.

In the first competition, Tien Minh will meet Wang Zhengming from China placed 14^th in the world’s rankings. If he wins, he may face player Taufik Hidayat from Indonesia.
