This was released by the deputy head of the Performing Arts Department, Pham Dinh Thang, on August 10.

The 21-year-old from California, US is 171cm tall and weighs 47kg, with body measurements of 83-60-88. She was selected to represent Vietnam in the beauty pageant due to her good command of English and excellent educational background.

The organising board of Miss World 2011 said that there will be around 120 contestants this year. This is a record figure to mark the 60^th anniversary of the establishment of the contest.

The organising board added that this year changes will be made in order to make the contest more transparent. The results of the preliminary round will be announced over the Internet.

The Miss World 2011 final will be held on November 6.
