The Performing Arts Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on October 6 approved a list of three nominees who will represent Vietnam in the upcoming 2008 Miss World beauty contest in South Africa, which was submitted by Elite Vietnam.
The nominees include three winners at the 2008 Miss Universe Vietnam contest: the crown-holder Nguyen Thuy Lam and the other two runners up, Vo Hoang Yen and Duong Truong Thien Ly.
According to Elite Vietnam, the firm will submit the list to the organising committee of the Miss World contest right after receiving an official decision from the department.
The contest’s invitation will be directly sent to the selected nominee.
Earlier, the department rejected the participation of three winners at the 2008 Miss Vietnam contest due to mistakes made by the contest’s organising committee.
