The Vietnam National Academy of Music (VNAM) will premier symphonies composed by Nguyen Vinh Cat to mark 100 days until the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.

The two new pieces, a violin concerto and an orchestral symphony, were composed to reflect the musician’s love for Hanoi.

Flame from Hung Kings to 1,000th Year Hanoi Capital will headline next Friday at King Ly Thai To Park, according to Pham Quang Long, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

“Warm up activities for the 1,000th year on October 10 will be held to remind Hanoians that we are approaching a momentous occasion,” he said.

Many people, including foreigners and overseas Vietnamese have presented gifts to the city to mark the event.

An exhibition to display all the gifts will be held at the Cultural Palace on October 6-10.
