Three students, who have won a national essay contest, will work as cultural ambassadors for Vietnam during a ten-day tour of the US, according to the organizers of the contest.
They are Nguyen Do Thuy Anh from the Hanoi College of Social Sciences and Humanities, Than Nguyen Thuy Linh from Da Nang University and Pham Thuy Tien from the HCM City College of Social Sciences and Humanities.
The contest winners will introduce Americans to Vietnamese cultures, said the Asia Foundation and the National Library of Vietnam, the organizers of the event.
The national writing contest attracted more than 1,750 entries from students in 55 universities nationwide over the three-month course. All entries dealt with current social affairs and were reported to show a good command of English.
The organizers expect the event to be held on a regular basis to promote cultural bonds between young people from Vietnam and the US.
