The final round of the sixth Vietnamese student filmmaking competition will take place in Hanoi on September 15.

The competition for secondary and high school students is organized by the Japanese embassy, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Ministry of Education and Training, aiming to help them set goals for life, improve their competitiveness and self-esteem, and nurture their dreams and aspirations.

The less than three minute long film are made by an individual or group of no more than three students.

Working on the theme “Life Around Us”, the clips should focus on the students' schools, society, communities and families.

Those who win first, second and third prizes will be invited to Japan to attend the International Film-making Competition for Asian Children to be held on November 24 in Minamiawajl City.

The competition was initiated by Japanese Ambassador Ryotaro and has been held annually since 2006.
