The 19 designers will showcase a collection of about 600 spring and summer fashions to capital city fashionistas.

The collection revolves around cubic forms and volume brought to life through an intersection of materials, colours and forms, according to designer Minh Hanh.

With colourful contrasts, Hanh makes her collection very charming. She uses traditional embroidery in Vietnamese silk.

Vietnam Collection Grand Prix 2008 winner Luong Minh Hoa will make her debut at fashion week with her collection Hoa Xuan (Spring Painting). The collection draws on images of nature, such as flowers and fauna. The collection has been designed with simple modern forms.

Hoa’s collection will feature on the evening of December 26 with five others, including those by Nhat Huy, Hoai Sang and Nguyen Hang.

Models will strut their stuff over three nights at Daewoo Hotel. Fashion week will wrap up with a show by designers from Viet Thang Garment Company.

The event will kick off at 7.30pm on December 26 around the hotel’s swimming pool. Admission is by invitation only.
