The 2011 Spring Flower Festival opened in Tao Dan park, Ho Chi Minh City, on Jan. 28 to celebrate the founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (Feb. 3) and the success of the 11th National Party Congress.
The festival also aims to mark the 100th anniversary of the day that President Ho Chi Minh left the country to find a revolutionary path to national salvation.
On display are over 6,000 objects, including strange and precious bonsai and pets of over 700 artisans from Vietnam and Taiwan, the Republic of Korea, Japan and Thailand.
During the festival, which will run until Feb. 8, a series of art performances and folk games will also be held.
