A spring flower festival opened at the Tao Dan cultural park in Ho Chi Minh City on February 1 to welcome the lunar New Year Festival (the Year of the Rat).
The 12-day festival is expected to attract the participation of 600 gardeners and artisans who will display more than 7,000 items, including flowers, ornamental plants, ornamental fish and rockery. There will be special collections of rare precious species of plants such as Cây sưa (Dalbergia bouruana gagu), Cam lai (barian kingwood) and Giang huong (perfumed tree).
During the festival, art performances will be held featuring the Spring, the Party and the city’s achievements in the integration process. A get-together will also be held to mark the 40th anniversary of the Mau Than Spring General Offensive and Uprising in 1968.
