The event attracted the participation of six provinces Hoa Binh, Son La, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Lao Cai and Yen Bai.

During the event, diverse activities will be held including a traditional folk art festival of different ethnic groups, fashion shows introducing traditional costumes of people living the north-western region, and sports games such as volleyball, tug-of-war, crossbow shooting, badminton, track and field, and top spinning. In addition, a trade fair and seminars will also be held during the festival.

The event is held every two years, offering an opportunity for local residents in the north-western region to share experiences in cultural activities and introduce their cultural, sports and socio-economic achievements to international friends.
