The event was attended by former beauty queens Bui Bich Phuong, Nguyen Dieu Hoa, Ha Kieu Anh, Nguyen Ngoc Khanh, as well as the newly-crowned 2008 Miss Vietnam Tran Thi Thuy Dung and the two runners-up, Phan Hoang Minh Thu and Nguyen Thuy Van.

Although the gala was not attended by all the beauty queens from over the past 20 years, it was warmly welcomed and supported by the audience.

On the occasion, the organising board presented insignia to the queens who have been crowned since 1998.

During the event, performances by famous singers and a fashion show by designer Lan Huong were also held in honour of the beauty of Vietnamese women.
