Young Singaporean orchestra conductor Adrian Tan will perform with the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra (VNSO) in Hanoi on March 16-17.

The performance will include three pieces of music by Richard Strauss, A.Dvorak and Beethoven in the presence of artist Ngo Hoang Quang, VNSO director.

Born in 1977, Adrian Tan began conducting orchestras in 1995 when he was a student. In 1999 he received a special award for best conductor of “Threepenny”, an opera written by Kurt Weill.

This is the second time Adrian Tan has been in Vietnam, the first time was in April 2006. He is now a conductor of the Coast Wind Band and New Festival Orchestra in Singapore.
