Associate professor Vu Kim Bang introduced the development of the Vietnamese language through different historical periods as well as its diversification, structure and pronunciations.

Experts and lecturers discussed their experiences in teaching Vietnamese and ways of improving the efficiency of teaching and learning Vietnamese at the Paris University in particular and in France in general. They also discussed how to attract more overseas Vietnamese to learn their mother tongue.

Mr Bang said that promoting the teaching of Vietnamese overseas is very important as it will help foreigners gain a better understanding of the country.
