The RoK-Vietnam Academic Association (RVAA) in Seoul has held a seminar to highlight multi-cultural families involving marriage by Koreans and Vietnamese.
The RVAA president, Jeon Hye Kyung, said the seminar is expected to form a broader picture of the present RoK society and a new view of how to live together in a multi-cultural community as the multi-racial and multi-cultural trends are growing in the Republic of Korea along with the expanded globalization.
Local researchers discussed Vietnamese women’s status in their home country and in their multi-cultural families in the RoK, legal procedures for their settlement and issues arising from these marriages.
Vietnamese ambassador to the RoK Tran Van Hieu praised the seminar as a practical activity to help over 25,000 Vietnamese brides in the RoK.
