Delegates from 14 provinces in the central region gathered in Hanoi on Wednesday to discuss the results of drawing a map of Cham cultural heritage and orientations to implement a project on preserving Cham culture in Vietnam.

During the seminar, delegates spoke highly of the drawing programme, which was initiated by the Cultural Heritage Department and UNESCO office in Hanoi. The aim is to develop skills and statistic techniques for cadres and managers at the provincial level and make a basic assessment of Cham cultural heritage so that they can identify harmful factors and improve the management of preservation.

The programme has been implemented on a pilot basis in the central provinces of Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Phu Yen.
